INTRODUCTION I am going to be comparing the performance of two teachers, Miss A

INTRODUCTION I am going to be comparing the performance of two teachers, Miss A and Miss B who have both acted as a sports leader during my PE sessions. I think that Miss A is better at communication than Miss B. During a basketball game, Miss B ensures that all of the instructions in which she gives are clear. She changes the technical language in which she uses to suit the range of abilities in the class. Additionally, she uses a range of verbal and non – verbal communication. For example, during a basketball game, she uses her voice to apply the rules to the game and give out punishments. However, in a rounder’s game, she uses a whistle along with hand signals to reach the long distances at which the players travel to communicate the messages she wants to convey such as rules that have been broken. On the other hand, Miss B could improve her non – verbal communication as sometimes she isn’t heard by the class. For example, during a rounder’s game she could use a whistle and gestures like Miss A instead of her voice to ensure she is understood better. This will ensure that Miss B is able to communicate her message more effectively and the results of the game are more reliable.

Both Miss A and Miss B have good humour during our sessions. This component

Both Miss A and Miss B have good humour during our sessions. This component is important within a lesson because it enables the participants to feel more relaxed and comfortable in that specific environment. Additionally, it creates a nice atmosphere in which the entire group can create a strong bond and feel calm in the presence of the rest of the class. These two leaders use humour during basketball and netball game to ensure that all of the participants feel more laid back in the game and aren’t scared to meet their personal goals. Without this trait, members of the class may feel intimidated and worried about expressing their potential if the atmosphere created isn’t very comfortable and nice. D 1 achieved with comparison of two leaders with clear similarities and contrasts

Finally, another trait that both of these sporting leaders have in common is equality.

Finally, another trait that both of these sporting leaders have in common is equality. Both of these leaders respect all of the members of the group, ensuring that they all feel safe and comfortable in the atmosphere. For example, during a session, both leaders ensure that every individual is included regardless of their confidence, allowing everyone to gain their best out of the session. Furthermore, this is a good trait for both leaders to have it enables the group to feel more included, motivating them to continue working at their best potential in hope of reaching their overall personal aims in future sessions. To conclude, both of these sporting leaders have very similar but also very different traits in which they apply to the session to get the best from the individuals. However , some of these could be improved and developed to suit the needs of the class a lot more. This will ensure that the participants can reach their potential and meet their personal goals in which they aspire towards. P 2 achieved with description of an attribute of a successful sports leader. M 2 achieved as you have evaluated the impact of this attribute on their team and their performance. D 1 achieved with comparison of two leaders with clear similarities and contrasts

Mr A uses Laissez-Faire leadership style to get across his lessons. He is laidback

Mr A uses Laissez-Faire leadership style to get across his lessons. He is laidback and lets you get on with what you’re doing. Mr B uses his own version of a democratic leadership. Mr B lets you get on with the lesson that you have been set to do. You will have been set many tasks to do over a period of time; that we will have to get on with. I like Mr Rushton’s style of teaching as this makes me get on with what I need to do. Mr A style of teaching makes me go off track slightly. However, they are both good styles of teaching if they are right for you personally. Both teachers sometimes change their styles, for example, if a group isn’t very well behaved then they would both use an autocratic leadership style.

With their organisation, Mr A is always organised with equipment. It is always ready

With their organisation, Mr A is always organised with equipment. It is always ready for us to use, and we don’t have to wait for him to get anything out of the supply cupboard. Whereas Mr B is organised with what we are doing in the lesson, but not with the equipment. He takes time out of the lesson to gather the correct equipment, which he could have done beforehand to make sure we use all of the time wisely in lesson. When it comes to practical assessments, both teachers are organised to give us the best chance of achieving our potential.
