Sports Week- Diggle School • Although sports week will look a lot different this year please share any pictures of things you get involved in this week- the staff would love to see what you have been getting up to. • The powerpoint is just a suggestion of activities that you might be able to try/adapt/improvise to play the sporting activity suggested. Some of you may not have the equipment needed to play these sports properly, but as we have had to do during lockdown- we need to make the best out of a bad situation, so some of the ideas may need to be changed in order for you to access them. • Just remember, the most important things is that you HAVE FUN!
Monday

Create your own sports game • Think about the different sports you have played and the rules for these games: • Football • Netball • Golf • Tennis • Rugby • Squash • Badminton
Rules • How long does the game last? Will there be a half time? Or break in between play? • What pitch/court will it be played on? (maybe use one already used by a certain game) • What is the aim of the game? Score in a net/hoop, hit over a net into a certain area? • How many players on a team? • How many can attack/defend? • Do the players have specific positions? Where can they move?

My Game Rules- idea taken from tennis • Can be played with 2 or 4 players (singles or doubles) • 3 umpires- 1 to umpire as normal the other 2 to record the scores each player gets during each rally. • Have to serve diagonally across the court into the blue or green service area of your opponent. • First person to 100 points wins the set • Player who wins best of 3 out of 5 sets wins the game.

Home sports day • Wednesday of Sports week is usually Sports Day. Can you take part in your own sports day at home using any household items needed to create the different activities.
