In order to support your child in knowing his or her facts, we are making fact fluency a focus at Cedar Hill Elementary this year. We will be giving timed tests regularly to help our students improve their instant recall to basic mathematic facts. It will be helpful to help your child practice their facts at home to increase their recall. Many of the local “dollar stores” sell flash cards. Practicing facts is a quick and easy activity that can be practiced almost anywhere – in the car, waiting at a restaurant, etc. Your child should be able to complete basic facts easily and quickly. Below is a list of our expectations for each grade level. Fifth Grade Multiplication & Division Facts (products through 144, quotients through 12) Fourth Grade Multiplication & Division Facts (products through 100, quotients through 10) Third Grade Addition & Subtraction Facts Multiplication Facts with products through 100 Second Grade Addition & Subtraction Facts to 20 First Grade Addition & Subtraction Facts to 10 Kindergarten Addition & Subtraction Facts to 5
