Brief description of our project Since most of us seniors and are going to college in the next couple months, we decided to do a comparison between two of the many colleges in Virginia. The comparison is between Radford University and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).

Virginia Tech and Radford University are only 14 miles away from each other (roughly 20 minutes on a good traffic day).

These are the Karst formations of Virginia, you can go caving. One of the most famous Karst formations in Virginia (you’ve probably been there) Luray Caverns.

Here are some of the bars that are popular and close to the actual campuses.

PK’s Bar & Grill This is one of the bars in Radford, VA and getting most of the student population from both colleges. If you are in Radford you know where to come have a great time.

One of the most popular things people do during the day is go to the mountain peaks and hike on trails. Some of the highest and most popular peaks are Bruiser Knob, Gap Mountain, Paris Mountain, and more. We used the Proportion Symbol to show the different sizes of the mountains. The bigger the circle the higher the elevation of the mountain.

Crime Rates

Conclusion In our Conclusion we found out that VA Tech and Radford have their differences. Although the distance between the schools are only 14 miles away they differ in many ways. From acceptance rate, Sat scores, the cost of attendance to how safe each school is. We also found the most enjoyable things to do for students throughout the entire county. In our study of each school we also found that even though Radford University is on the outside of Montgomery County, it is still considered to be in Montgomery.
