Business and Product Overview 49 P 11 -843 Sure. Switch Contactor Upgrade
Introduction The 49 P 11 -843 Sure. Switch Contactor Upgrade is the next generation contactor with a microprocessor brain. • Sealed to keep out insects and debris • Microprocessor control nearly eliminates contact welding and pitting • Condensing units protected from brownouts and short cycling 49 P 11 -843 Sure. Switch 3
What is It? The Sure. Switch Contactor Upgrade is the first contactor to include a microprocessor. The contacts are inside of a sealed box to eliminate damage caused by insect intrusion and debris. Compatible with virtually all single stage residential air conditioners and heat pumps with permanent split capacitor (PSC) fan motors. Works with equipment up to a 40 FLA rating / 5 Ton system. 49 P 11 -843 Sure. Switch 4
Features/Benefits • Sealed switching contacts eliminate bug and debris issues • Microprocessor detects and mitigates arcing that damages traditional contactors • Integrated short cycle and random startup timer lowers pull on electricity, especially in multi-unit installations • Integrated line voltage brownout protection • Quiet latching relay, no buzz or hum • LED status indicator Sealed to reduce damage from insects and debris. Optical sensor monitors the arc and adjusts timing. 49 P 11 -843 Sure. Switch Open design allows for damage from fire ants, other insects. 5
Why is it Better? Increases system reliability and homeowner peace of mind. • 5 x Contactor life • Sealed to keep out insects and debris • Microprocessor control nearly eliminates contact welding and pitting • Compressor protected from brownouts and short cycling • 5 Year warranty 49 P 11 -843 Sure. Switch 6
Why is it Better? “Zero Cross” contact control switches without damaging current present. Traditional Contactors Sure. Switch Sealed Relay with Optical Sensor plus unique opening and closing algorithms achieve consistent Zero Cross Switching. Contact shows no damage after 1 M cycles. 49 P 11 -843 Sure. Switch Traditional contactors do not have microprocessor intelligence. They open and close at random, often in the “Arc Zone where damage occurs. Damage shown after 300 K cycles. 7
Competitive Comparison Traditional definite-purpose mechanical contactors haven’t changed for decades. • Subject to insect intrusion • Arcing • No technician safety cover 49 P 11 -843 Sure. Switch 8
Competitive Comparison Other “sealed contactors” do not offer protection against insect intrusion. “Arc Cover, ” “Dust Cover, ” or “Plastic Noise Shields” do not offer the same level of protection as the fully sealed Sure. Switch. Our contactor housing design limits dust and other contaminants from the magnet structure, reducing noise, eliminating insects, and reducing contactor failure. No protection. Some protection but some ants still get in. 49 P 11 -843 Sure. Switch Completely sealed from insects and debris. 9
Testimonials “Had ant problems in the past and this will cure them. Also much better for the compressor with the built in protections. Clear instructions, took 20 min max to install. ” “Before I bought this I was replacing my contactor relay at least once a year. It's been 2 years since I installed this and so far so good. It really does start a/c quieter overall. ” -J Shea “They seem to me they are superior than a traditional contactor. . . I was a skeptic at first but I have them on several 10 seer 5 ton units that would burn up these crappy contactors we have. So far they have held up 2. 5 years on my test units. ” -Joe Schearer 49 P 11 -843 Sure. Switch 10

Product Use Sure. Switch resolves common failure modes and increases system reliability. • Microprocessor controlled switching algorithms nearly eliminates contact welding and pitting • Completely sealed contacts defend against insects and debris No access for insects or debris. Plus: • Short cycle and line voltage brownout protection • LED status display and cycle counter • Quiet zero chatter latching relay 49 P 11 -843 Sure. Switch 14
Easy Replacement Sure. Switch replaces 1, 1. 5, or 2 pole contactors with the identical mounting footprint. Stacked circuit boards stay close to existing size dimensions. Sure. Switch Four hole mounting pattern matches industry standard contactors. Typical Contactor 49 P 11 -843 Sure. Switch 15
Comparison to Older / Competitive Products Integrated value adds: brown out protection and time delays for exceptional system reliability. 1 Brownout Protection • Shuts off the compressor and fan if line voltage is below 180 VAC for more than 4 seconds • • • 1 Brownout protection Fast-flashing Green/Red LED lets you know if voltage is low Operation resumes if line voltage returns to a minimum of 190 VAC Sure. Switch will not attempt to start the compressor and fan if line voltage is less than 187 VAC • Fast-flashing Green/Red LED lets you know if voltage is low • Sure. Switch ships with this feature turned on, but can be switched off by dipswitch Reduces chance for compressor and condenser fan motor damage; motor winding temps rise 10 -15% for each 10% of voltage drop. 49 P 11 -843 Sure. Switch 16
Comparison to Older / Competitive Products 2 Short Cycle Delay • Sure. Switch starts a three minute delay at power-up, and any time the compressor is shut down • Fast-flashing green LED indicates a delay is present • Sure. Switch ships with this feature turned on, but can be switched off by dipswitch Rapid cycling pumps out oil and damages compressors. If system pressures aren’t allowed enough time to equalize, motor windings can be stressed. 1 Brownout protection + 2 Short cycle delay 49 P 11 -843 Sure. Switch 17
Comparison to Older / Competitive Products 3 Random Start Delay • Sure. Switch starts a 5 -90 second delay, at power-up and recovery from a brownout, in addition to the short cycle delay • Fast-flashing Green LED indicates a delay is present • Normal compressor cycling will not activate a Random Start Delay Perfect for multi-unit installs like apartments to help reduce blackouts from multiple loads restarting simultaneously. 1 Brownout protection 2 + Short cycle delay 3 + Random start delay 49 P 11 -843 Sure.
