What is Baptism?

Why do we Baptize?

Why do we Baptize?

Why do we Baptize? Jesus told us to (1) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28: 19)

Why do we Baptize? (2) It is a symbol of washing away our sins • “Rise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name” (Acts 22: 16)

Why do we Baptize? (2)“Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. (Rom. 6: 3 -4)

Baptism represents • Washing away your sins. • Dying to your old self • Being reborn in the image of Christ.

Who should get baptized?

Who should get baptized? • Those who received the gospel and trusted in Christ for salvation. • Acts 2: 41

How old should a person be when they are baptized? • It depends on each person. – Usually 12 years old at the earliest.
