All Sign of the Cross Leader The season of Lent is a time during which we prepare ourselves for the celebration of Easter. Jesus spent forty days in prayer and fasting in the desert as He prepared to do the Father’s will for Him on earth. During Lent we prepare for Easter through our efforts to Listen to God in prayer, by following Jesus, footsteps more closely in our lives. We are gathered here to celebrate our time in preparation during Lent.

Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important? ” “The most important one, ” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
