MISSION REFLECTION As we enter into the Parish Transformation process, it is important to

MISSION REFLECTION As we enter into the Parish Transformation process, it is important to allow enough time for prayerful reflection: • Before we can develop an action plan, we need to reflect on what mission means and who we are as a parish • We should evaluate the world around us…how has our local community changed and how might that impact our mission? • It is important to allow time for prayerful reflection and discernment of where the Holy Spirit is calling us to go…Parish Transformation is not meant to simply be a corporate planning process • As specific ideas for action arise, let’s keep them in a ‘parking lot’ we can pick up later in the process “Patient Trust” Kickoff Meeting 19

HOMEWORK ITEM – PEARLS OF GREAT PRICE Homework: • Over the next week, think about what you believe are the parish’s Pearls of Great Price • What do I value most about our parish? • What positive feedback do I hear about our parish from visitors or neighbors? • Ask others what they believe to be the parish’s Pearls of Great Price Notes: • As much as possible, refrain from identifying individual people as the parish’s Pearls of Great Price. We should celebrate these individuals, but the parish remains long after individuals may leave. • If a welcoming or family atmosphere is what you believe to be the parish’s pearl, what actions, relationships, or ministries supports that atmosphere? How would you explain it to someone who has never visited the parish? Meeting 2 21
