Vacuum tank design • Similar to LEIR KFH 31 • Tank Ø ~ 1 m, length 562. 4 mm (flange to flange) • UHV Conflat flanges and Wheeler DN 1000 made of circular laminated 316 LN. • All parts made of 316 LN (or 304 L according to availability). • Cover and end will be bowed for a better mechanical stiffness. • The stainless steel parts will be vacuum fired at 950 °C for optimum performances. • DN 150 flange at input, DN 100 at output. • DN 160 at bottom for 400 l/s ion pump. (LNA-MKKFH-ES-0001) • Drawings of the kicker tank to be checked and follow the CDD approval path. • Raw material (mainly 316 LN) to be ordered as soon as possible. • Tank manufacture in the Cern main workshop during summer for delivery end October 2014. • Installation of new kicker generators platform in B 393 will start soon.
