Status of Development and Up-gradation Rural Haats into Gr. AMs • Survey of 9477 rural haats carried out • Mo. RD received proposal of 5002 Rural Haats from States to develop (24 States) and requested DAC&FW if these Haats are free from State APMC Regulations ü DAC & FW verified so far 1878 haats, which are free from APMC regulations and replied to Mo. RD ü After further scrutiny by DAC&FW, it is found that most of haats from list of 5002 Haats are proposals for entirely new haats üWhile, as per announcement in budget 2018 -19, only existing haats are to be developed and upgraded • DAC&FW has requested Mo. RD to also undertake development of at least one functional village haat in each Aspirational District this year on priority basis • States have been requested by DAC&FW to exempt all Gr. AMs from State APMC regulation • Proposal for creation of Agri-Market Infrastructure Fund (AMIF) with a corpus of Rs. 2, 000 crore is being worked out (EFC Stage) • DAC&FW is finalizing “Operational Guidelines” for marketing operation and management of Gr. AMs in consultation with Mo. RD

AMs from APMC Regulations • Step-4 Utilize AMIF and other Schemes to develop marketing infrastructure • Step-5 To plan for linking Gr. AMs to Habitations
