Tips for Rating in the Guidance • Generalize nouns used in the DRDP 2015 to the home environment • Do not re-interpret verbs, which describe the behaviors and skills that the child does to demonstrate mastery. Original example in the DRDP: Pats the classroom pet gently when a familiar adult communicates, "Gentle touches. " Example that does not change the verb, but generalizes the noun: Pats the family pet gently when his father communicates, "Gentle touches. "
