STUDENT EXPECTATIONS • Students are to come prepared and ready to learn. That means

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS • Students are to come prepared and ready to learn. That means having all materials and having completed any homework that was assigned. • After 3 verbal warnings and a call home student will receive a detention for not improving or modifying his/her behavior. • Electronic devices are not allowed in class. (It will be confiscated and sent to the main office per school policy). • Eating and Drinking are not allowed in my classroom unless a student has a valid medical reason that has been cleared by the office (i. e. a diabetic student). • Bathroom passes are for emergencies only- will be given three passes per nine week unless a student has a valid medical reason that has been cleared by the office. • Complete their homework daily and continually study for the course.

Students should NOT wait until Thursday to start it. It is recommended they do it on the weekend before. • Students are given a pacing calendar at the beginning of school year showing all deadlines for the first quarter (calendar is posted in google classroom and on my Doral webpage) • The only technical assistance a teacher can give is to reset password or restart an unresponsive problem. (*Must be given notice during the school week. )

GOOGLE CLASSROOM • We are using google classroom this year to keep track of our notes and assignments. • It is also used to submit assignments – all assignment attachments (work on paper) must be submitted as a pdf file – jpg and png files are too big and I am running out of space • Students can add their parent’s email address to their account if parents would like to see their work • If students have a phone or tablet, they should download the google drive and google classroom apps. They can take pictures and submit from those apps. If they have a Samsung, the can “Scan” the pictures directly as a pdf. If they have an i. Phone, they need a pdf maker app, they can then add the pdf to their google drive. Them must always use their doral. colegia email. • If phone/tablet is not available to them, they can also use the camera app on their computer to take pictures and submit to google drive

EDULASTIC • We are using Edulastic to take tests and quizzes. • We will also be using it for homework assignments, and for Study Guides ONE NOTE • Each class has an individual One. Note notebook. This is what I will be primarily using for my class ‘white board’ • All notes are automatically saved.

KHAN ACADEMY Khan Academy is an excellent resource to supplement our in class learning.

KHAN ACADEMY Khan Academy is an excellent resource to supplement our in class learning. Virtual school is challenging for many students. I post Khan Academy videos to assist student who are struggling with the lesson or to watch in case they are absent. Students were sent an invitation to join in their Doral Colegia Email. Starting next week, I will be posting practice problems and quiz/test work students can complete to help them study for tests and quizzes. They will earn extra credit at the end of the quarter if all posted Khan Academy Assignments are completed. (The extra credit will be I will drop their lowest quiz grade for the quarter)
