Current Activities for Year 5 and 6 • Students use problem solving skills and team building to help their school win. MFL • Teachers of French and Spanish teach a Christmas lesson to introduce these languages and to talk about these countries at Christmas. BS

Current Activities for Year 5 and 6 English • English Prefects support Yr 6 in their English lessons. • Yr 6 public speaking challenge • Book writing day – Yr 5 students plan and write their own book, which will then be edited and a final copy produced for them to collect on their Year 5 visit day IT • Sugo Robot Wrestling – Sandhurst students teach Yr 6 s how to programme robots and then they compete in matches against other teams from local schools. • Staff are supporting teaching of IT in local primary schools to ensure that students have the necessary skills for secondary school. Current Activities for Year 6 Science • Environmental Day – this is a confidence boosting day for Yr 6 students who may be particularly worried about the transition. Students carry out a traffic survey and then analyse their data and write a report which they present their findings to Senior Teachers. • Science enrichment days – Yr 5 take part in various experiments and activities. BS
