Michael Taylor nasceu em Sussex, Inglaterra, em 1952. Estudou na “Worthing School of Art” (1969 -1970) e na “Goldsmiths School of Art” (1970 -1973). Michael recebeu muitos prêmios por suas pinturas. Três de suas obras estão na “National Portrait Gallery”, em Londres: retratos do músico Julian Bream, do compositor Sir John Tavener, e da Baroness James of Holland. Biography: Michael Taylor was born in Sussex, England, in 1952. He studied at the “Worthing School of Art” (19691970) and at the “Goldsmiths School of Art” (19701973). Michael received many awards for his paintings. Three of his works are in the National Portrait Gallery, London: portraits of the musician. Julian Bream, of the composer Sir John Tavener and of the Baroness James of Holland Park, better known as a writer by the name of P. D. James. With his wife Caroline, he moved to Yorkshire, near Haworth, in 1975. After his daughter Ellen was born, (1976), the family moved to an abandoned chaple in Dorset. His son, Richard, was born in 1980. Caroline and Michael live currently in an old pub in the village of Child Okeford, Dorset. In 2012, Michael. Taylor painted the masterpiece“Boy with Apple” for the film “The Grand Budapest Hotel”.
