HJ modeled itself after the organization of the military with squads and platoons.
What did HJ members learn about? ► The Hitler Youth intended to train future "Aryan supermen" and future soldiers who would faithfully serve the Third Reich.
More “learning”… ► Youths in HJ camps learned to use weapons, built up their physical strength, learned war strategies, and were indoctrinated in anti. Semitism. Older members of the Hitler Youth throw mock grenades during a sports festival. June 1936.
Uniforms ► Members of the Hitler Youth wore paramiltiary uniforms very similar to the Nazi Party, and the organization used a system of Nazi ranks similar to the ranks and insignia of the SS.
League of German Girls Young German women were indoctrinated with the values of obedience, duty, self-sacrifice, discipline and physical self-control. ► The goal of girls in the HJ was to prepare women for motherhood and raise children who would be educated in the ways of National Socialism. ► They were indoctrinated with Aryan "racial pride" and told to avoid any contact with Jews. ► "Every girl belongs to us" states this League of German Maidens poster
