OVERVIEW My Aim: ü To demonstrate online learning to students. My Objective: ü Every student must know all about note making and note taking after this lesson. Your learning outcome: ü All students must be able to answer any questions under note taking and note making.

NOTE TAKING Note taking is the process of writing down important information from a text, lecture or other learning opportunity in order to review and remember the information later.

NOTE MAKING Note making also refers to process of generating your own ideas in note form rather than taking notes from other people , books lectures etc. Making and taking notes at the university will help you to make sense of what you are learning and to remember it later.

IMPORTANCE OF NOTES Notes serve as a RECORD of what we have studied, which topics have been covered and which books have been read. They serve as a source of REFERENCE for future use. They serve as a source of REVISION for exams, quizzes , etc. They serve as a SUMMARY of what we have studied. They serve as an aid to COMPREHENSION of information.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN NOTE MAKING AND NOTE TAKING NOTE-TAKING is jotting down the main points of what one HEARS during a lecture, tutorial, seminar, conference, talk or any similar situation. NOTE-MAKING involves READING and putting down relevant material or information from written sources such as textbooks, reference books, journals, magazines, newspapers, and lecture notes.
