Melissa Brown, ADN, RN • Delaware ENA State Council • Active member in her state • Started in the Bayhealth Medical Center ED as Unit Secretary and over 7 years progressed to LPN and then RN with TNCC and ENPC • Was an extraordinary triage nurse and an exemplary and compassionate patient advocate • Adored her son Phillip • Was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and huge Phillies baseball fan

Jamie Butler, BSN, RN, CEN • New Mexico ENA State Council • ER nurse in Texas and New Mexico • Base Manager and Flight Nurse for a Care. Flight 5 medical helicopter • Remembered as a kind and loving soul who could not pass up the opportunity to help anyone in need and always saw the good in everyone • Favorite saying was a quote by J. L. Picard, "Seize the moment. . . live now! Make now always the most precious time. Now will never come again. "

Also served as chapter President-elect and Secretary • Director of Critical Care/Emergency Services, Onslow Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville, NC • TNCC/ENPC Faculty • Army Veteran

Debbie Cotton, RN • Active in ENA’s TNCC and ENPC courses as a Course Director in Canada and previously a CATN provider • Will be remembered as a compassionate nurse, a dedicated teacher, and a true mentor to all who crossed her path

Christine Dimitrakopoulos, Ph. D(c), MSN, MS, RN, CEN, SANE • Arizona ENA State Council • Began nursing career at Loyola Hospital, Chicago • Long-time member of the California State Council and Loma Prieta Chapter, and California State Council President in 1997 • Emergency-trauma ethicist and strong advocate for victims of sexual assault and intimate partner violence • Appointed to ENA’s first Wellness Committee • Her photo, “Flat Chris, ” traveled to Nashville in 2013 so “her” picture could be taken with many of her ENA friends. The photos were made into a book that she was able to see shortly before she died. • ENA was in her heart until the end

Joan Elliott, MBA, RN, CEN • New York ENA State Council (Lower Hudson Valley Chapter) • Worked in adult ED for over 25 years, most recently as Clinical Nurse at NY Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia University • Deep honor, integrity, and a ‘can-do’ spirit • As true nursing leader, partnered with management to advocate for her peers • Approachable, calm, and very often right • Will be missed and cherished by her husband, two sons, and many friends

Juanita Fields, RN • Georgia ENA State Council (Chattahoochee Chapter) • Won St. Francis Hospital RN of the Year award in 2009 • As an ED Nurse Educator, she developed innovative approaches to onboarding new nurses, improved staff satisfaction, and overall retention • Loved her family and considered those she worked with her ‘kids’

Edith Jenkins, MSN, RN • Maryland ENA State Council (Mid-Maryland Chapter) • Assistant Director of Nursing for Greater Southeast Hospital in Washington, DC • Loved the nursing profession, starting as ED nurse at Holy Cross Hospital • The sweetest soul, selfless and generous, who did so much for so many

Jamie Matthews, RN, EMT-P, CEN • Texas ENA State Council (Tarrant County Chapter) • CEN since 1986 and a TPAPN Advocate • Worked for 30 years as a dedicated ED nurse and EMT and enjoyed teaching classes in ACLS • As a member of the TX-4 Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) he was part of the first wave of disaster relief into New Orleans after Katrina • Volunteered as advocate for the Texas Peer Assistance Program for Nurses

Virginia ‘Ginny’ Myerscough, BSN, RN, CEN • Missouri ENA State Council (Greater St. Louis Chapter) • ENA member since 1978 and emergency nurse 50 years • Helped establish the Greater St. Louis Chapter; an active member from the start, holding a variety of positions • Team Leader on seven mission trips to Bolivia and volunteered to help Hurricane Katrina victims • Received many awards through ENA including two lifetime achievement awards and Emergency Nurse of the Year award in 1995 • Born in the late 1930 s with a hole in her heart and not expected to live past her teenage years • Went from an LPN to RN to BSN all while working full time and raising 8 children; always considered a fighter

Tamara Ponson, BSN, RN, CEN • Florida ENA State Council (West Coast Florida Chapter) • Emergency Room Manager at Blake Hospital for three years • Member of the Trauma Service Area 13 Systems Council • Loving wife and mother of five children

Matthew Rairdon, BSN, RN • Maine ENA State Council • As new graduate and in first year as nurse, achieved ACLS, PALS, ENPC, and TNCC • Dedicated, motivated, and professional; ran for Unit Based Practice Council his first year • Had osteomyelitis as a teen, which fed his desire to be an ED nurse • Positive attitude transformed the ED • Successful memorial run was done in his name, raising money for a named scholarship for St Joseph’s College • Changed a lot of lives in his short life and made people laugh every day

Regina Ricotta, RN • New York ENA State Council (Genesee Valley Chapter) • Regina, nicknamed Reggie, was an ED nurse at Genesee Hospital for many years until its closure • Spent her next 10 years in the Rochester General Hospital ED • Passionate about emergency nursing and her patients, always willing to do everything necessary and advocate for them

Michael Ryan, ADN, RN, CEN, CPEN, SANE • Ohio ENA State Council (Greater Cincinnati Chapter) • Staff Nurse in the ED and Clinical Decision Unit at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, Kentucky • TNCC, ACLS, and PALS Instructor • Proudly served his country in both the U. S. Navy and Air Force • One of the few male SANE nurses and the only one in Cincinnati

Donna Simpkins, BSN, RN, CEN • New Jersey ENA State Council (Jersey Shore Chapter) • Served in the Jersey Shore Chapter as Secretary, ENA Education Committee member, and New Jersey State Delegate Representative • Certified Scuba Diver as a Type 1 diabetic and a Certified Diabetes Educator • Involved in Traumatic Brain Injury Association and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation • Full-time mother and home educator to her son Michael • Befriended many and loved to have fun
