Modules within the training • Not all H&I specialists will experience all areas of H&I in their career • Requirement for knowledge in core areas with the option for assessment against additional modules. • All applicants must be able to provide evidence of training in H&I as it relates to supporting – clinical solid organ (core Module 1) and/or – clinical HSC transplantation (core Module 2). • Additionally, applicants may apply to be assessed for their knowledge in H&I relating to – disease association studies (Module 3) – transfusion (Module 4).

EFI CME/CPD Scheme • Important for all staff to record development activities • Some

EFI CME/CPD Scheme • Important for all staff to record development activities • Some countries already have such schemes; either generic or specific to H&I • Decided that holders of the ESHI Diploma, either Honorary or by examination will need to show ongoing CME/CPD • To facilitate this the EFI Education Committee has developed a simple spreadsheet to record CME/CPD • Being piloted in 2018 • 31 participants (~50% ESHI Diploma holders)

Future of CME/CPD scheme • Launch properly in 2019 • All holders of the ESHI Diploma will be expected to show evidence of CME/CPD over a 3 year period • Can use local schemes as well, don’t have to use the EFI scheme • Assessment of some or all CME/CPD returns made by Education Committee • Have to work on: – Submission of documents to EBTI to support CME/CPD – How will submissions be assessed? – Re-certification process (cost? )
