Main Learning Task • Today we are going to work as a whole class looking at takeaways. • Each child needs a sheet of paper and six buttons or other small objects. • Put the buttons in a line.
Main Learning Task • You now must decide how many to hide with the sheet of paper. Piece of Paper
Main Learning Task • Write how many buttons can be seen and how many are hidden, Piece of Paper • 6 -2 = 4 • All – seen = number hidden
Main Learning Task • Now try it for yourselves. • Write down each sum. • Write your sums on the board. • What do you notice?
