Characteristics of Students Class comprises of 40 students; 22 boys and 18 girls. Students’ age ranges from 12 -13. Majority of the students can read and know the basic concepts of operations on addition and subtraction. They also enjoy Mathematics and 80% of the class maintains an average above 75% within this subject area. Students are familiar with the basic concepts of operations on addition and subtraction ; however they are not yet able to carry out the task of adding signed numbers (integers).

Instructional Procedures n Content instruction would be presented to the students using Virtual Algebraic tiles using Math-U-See Manipulatives app and Computer-based Digital Story on adding integers. First to be demonstrated are the procedures in using virtual algebraic tiles and students will then solve given problems on signed numbers with the use of these manipulatives on the activity part of the lesson. n The teacher will provide follow-up questions on students’ activity and direct to discussion using PPT Presentation.

Instructional Procedures n Students will also be presented with computer-based digital story on addition

Instructional Procedures n Students will also be presented with computer-based digital story on addition of integers and how it is used in real life situations. n The students will now conceptualize 5 real-world problems on addition of integers in groups. They will present their output on the next class session through a video tutorial presentation integrating the use of algebraic tiles or any representations that could illustrate their conceptualize problems to establish higher understanding and mastery in addition of integers. Students’ output will be graded thru rubrics.

Describe (TPK): These allow teachers to create authentic and digital activities that are engaging for students. Students work through the scaffolded virtual manipulatives and interactive slides at their own pace while teachers can monitor their progress and help struggling students. This allow students to manipulate and add numbers with like and unlike sign and use its concepts in real life situations.
