MEANING Crises means an event that is experienced sudden, intense, unexpectedly, trouble and emotionally overcharged .

SITUATIONAL CRISIS( suicidal crisis) �The crisis observed in this film is that the NEIL PERRY who was a brilliant student and also his passion was acting but unfortunately he hides it somewhere due to his fathers overwhelmed wishes because he always demanded that NEIL achieve greatness in academia. He killed his wish to become an actor but suddenly he started feeling that he must do whatever he likes to do because his new poetry professor Mr. Keating has motivated his all students to live as they like to live and fulfill their dreams but NEIL fails to make it understand to his parents. �He thought that his life is worthless and his self-mutilative acts precede him to attempt suicide.
CRISIS OF LOSS Ø This crisis was observed in the film when NEIL PERRY died and his friends blamed his father of Neil’s death. His very close friend TODD ANDERSON was in deep shock by his death and he called his father a murderer of NEIL. His friends prayed for his soul to be in heaven. Ø This crisis is also felt by his teacher MR. KEATING who loved his passion of acting. He was in pain that he has lost his brilliant student due to his father’s worthless demands of become a doctor or engineer.
ASPECTS OF CRISIS PRECIPITATING EVENT ØNEIL has a misunderstanding and lack of communication with his father. ØNEIL’S father wanted to best for him , which led to extremely high expectations. NEIL’S father never understand his desires and passion and he always forced him to kill his dreams and just work hard for studies. Ø NEIL was dying internally day by day and he was unable to handle it anymore.
PERCEPTION OF CRISIS �He perceived that his father never going to understand his feeling to become a actor. He was not able to explain his father his choice of living to do what he wants to do. �His subjective distress was demonstrated in the way that he felt distress, hopeless , loneliness and trapped in between his father’s conviction and his own dreams and desires.
IMPAIRMENT OF FUNCTIONING � Family functioning is impaired which is evident by lack of communication. � NEIL felt afraid of sharing his dreams with his father. � He felt laid back in pursuing his dreams due to lack of support. � It affects his behaviour so that he walks a path of lying to follow his dreams.
