Challenge of multi-disciplinary reading Significant source of stress and anxiety for students on arrival § Wide range of paper structures, academic language and writing styles § Reading every word is time consuming § Uncertainty of purpose of the reading - what should I be looking for, why has it been included?
Situation June 2018 Work load model Four MSc (PGT) programmes with ca 11 O students pa § § Pdf Reading lists 30 reading lists to transfer Some shared between programmes ca. 2100 references But, standard structure for all reading lists
Making the transition Ouce_BCM 3_Conservation. Governance Adopt ORLO nomenclature Standard structure and principles of what ‘qualifies’ a reading to go in each § Lift & Shift’ old print reading lists by trained assistants § Lunch time workshop for module leaders – train in basics of Tallis and generate buy-in for the project § Transfer L&S lists to RL ‘owners’ § Follow-up support § Developing a ‘Protocols’ document as we go along § Roles and responsibilities § Nomenclature & structure § Workflow
