Color n Color affects how people feel n It can trigger thoughts and memories n Certain colors make people feel certain ways: – – – – Red- bold, excited, or nervous Orange- friendly, hopeful, and full of energy Blue- subdued, and used to create calm feeling Dark blue- can be depressing Greens- calming influence Yellow- good for studying, cheerfulness, happy White- simple, clean look, leads to feelings of isolation
Warm Colors n Red, associated with the sun orange, and yellow n Suitable n It’s in areas of activity possible to have a warm green or warm blue (blues look warmer when red is added to them)
Cool Colors n Capture the essence of the ocean n Blues and greens n It’s possible to have a cool yellow n Cool colors are popular in bedrooms, bathrooms, and home offices because of their relaxing effect n The colors you choose will depend partly on the purpose of the rooms
Illusions with Color n Warm-colored objects appear closer than cool -colored ones n One can visually enlarge a small room by painting the walls a cool color n A high ceiling painted a darker color will appear lower n A low ceiling painted a lighter color will appear higher n Bold, bright colors make objects stand out
