Web Filtering Does our service meet UK Safer Internet requirements ? • It is important to recognise that no filtering systems can be 100% effective and need to be supported with good teaching and learning practice and effective supervision. • A technical solution should compliment your school’s Online Safety Policy towards meeting appropriate OFSTED requirements • General web filtering remains effective for preventing access to inappropriate websites • We are working with our supplier Fortinet around a formal published response. This response will be published on the safer internet web portal. Saferinternet. org. uk questionnaires

Web Filtering - What have we done? • Communication sent to schools 3 rd November with actions for 3 rd party curriculum support • Blocked search engines not offering safe search option • Google and Bing currently “allowed” search engines • Produced school specific reports at request for OFSTED inspections, these reports and summary highlights are now been aligned in a schools service review. • (Example report available today for viewing)
