Innovative method For salary payment to Co-operative Banks Ø Required as these banks are Non-core hence NEFT not enabled Ø There approx 829 branches with 2385 employee. Out of which 11 branches covered with 889 employees. Ø Separate salary account in National Bank by Cooperative Bank is opened Ø Tri-partite agreement is entered between Host Nationalised Bank, Co-operative bank & Rly Administration to safe guard the interest of Railways & Staff. Ø Delay is reduced from 8 days to 1 day Ø The salary is credited by Co-Op bank to respective Rly Staff’s account as per list provided to them.
Roll out of SBI Imprest Cards. Why Required… Ø 100% bank payment for salary & others achieved by Oct-2011 along with single wage period. ØHence Cashier movement reduced drastically. ØSpeedy movement of cash to imprest holder. ØStarted on experimental basis on Feb-2012. Ø Rly. Board issued instruction subsequently.
Benefits… Ø Existing cashiers movement reduced considerably from 57 to 17 Mondays Ø Reduction in payment of honorarium and TA. Ø Reduced period of transit and prompt availability of imprest. Ø Savings to the tune of Rs. 23 lakhs for the year. Ø Three cashiers posts surrendered Ø Imprest holder can view his statement.
