SWE Points Rewards System - Spring Semester Edition! • • • We will keep track of attendance to all events and give a certain number of points for each event. Make sure you always sign in/out! The person with the most points at the end of the semester will get choice of reduced SWE conference pricing, choice of SWE gear, or gift card. (~$25 value) 1 pt – Meetings, bringing a new student to a meeting/event 2 pts - Social events, professional development events, bringing a grad student to a meeting/event 3 pts – Any event that counts for SAC hours, fundraising events 4

Statler News : Research Opportunity ● ● The department of Mechanical Engineering at Oakland University (OU) will once again be hosting a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Site, “AERIM: Automotive and Energy Research and Industrial Mentorship Program at Oakland University. ” The focus will be automotive and energy-related research topics in mechanical engineering. They are seeking to recruit ten talented and motivated undergraduate students from across the United States to spend 10 weeks in the summer working on a research project at OU and are especially interested in providing opportunities for women, underrepresented minority and first generation in college students. Students will be provided with a $5, 000 stipend, on-campus housing, meal allowance and travel funding. No prior automotive or research experience is required. ● ● ● The program will run this summer from May 18 to July 24, 2020. Our application deadline is March 10 and we will continue reviewing applications until all positions are filled.
