Socialization to professional nursing Scope of nursing : Nurses provide care for three type of clients: 1 - Individuals 2 - Family. 3 - communities.
Nursing practice involves four areas: 1 - Promoting health and wellness. 2 - preventing illness. 3 - restoring health. 4 -care of the dying.
1 - Promoting health and wellness Nurses promote wellness in clients who are both healthy and ill. This may involve individual and community activities to enhance healthy lifestyles, such as improving nutrition and physical fitness, preventing drug and alcohol misuse, restricting smoking, and preventing accidents and injury in the home and work
Nursing practice involves four areas 2 - preventing illness The goal of illness prevention programs is to maintain optimal health by preventing disease.
Nursing practice involves four areas 3 - restoring health Restoring health focuses on the ill client and it extends from early detection of diseases through helping the client during the recovery period.
4 - care of dying This area of nursing practice involves comforting and caring for people of all ages who are dying. Nurses carrying out these activities work in home, hospital, and extended care facilities.

Factors that facilitate the socialization process: 1 - Clarity and consent with which the occupants and aspirants (learners) perceive the roles and positions. 2 - Degree of compatibility of expectation within role sets-that is, all others who are involved with the learner, such as staff nurses, nurse managers, physicians, clients, and their families or significant others.
Factors that facilitate the socialization process: 3 - Learning that has occurred before an entry to a position. 4 - Capability of socialization agents to manage the socialization process.
