What do we know? ØGeorgia is home to the third largest absolute rural student enrollment in the United States – almost 380, 000 students. (GPEE, 2018) ØAll Georgia students deserve equitable access to effective teachers and leaders. (Ga. DOE, Equity Plan 2015) ØMore Induction phase teachers are placed in Georgia rural districts/schools than in non-rural districts/schools. (Ga. DOE, Equity Plan) ØNew teachers who participate in induction programs are nearly twice as likely to stay in the profession as those who don’t.
