Assessment for GCSE Art courses • Coursework (60% of marks) Work covered in year

Assessment for GCSE Art courses • Coursework (60% of marks) Work covered in year 10 + 11. (including mock exam) • Timed Assignment (40% of marks) A theme is set by the exam board, such as Reflections; Fragmentation; Past, present and future. Students have the Spring term for planning followed by 2 full days to produce their piece of work based on theme. An exhibition of the work is held at the end of yr 11.

Progression to A’level Art • Grade 6 in Art or Textiles is required in order to continue to A’ level Art • Students often follow the A’ level course with a one year Art Foundation course, before their specialised Art degree.
