How it works: You will take two components for your GCSE’s Component One: Coursework

How it works: You will take two components for your GCSE’s Component One: Coursework Portfolio will be worth 60% of your overall grade! Component Two: Externally Set Assignment will be worth 40% of your overall grade! You must present a portfolio of preparatory and then you will spend 10 hours of supervised time on a final piece/outcome. This includes a sustained project evidencing the journey from initial engagement to the realisation of intentions and a selection of further work undertaken during the course of study. You respond to a chosen starting point from an externally set assignment paper relating to the subject title.

AO 1: The four-block structure DEVELOP, REFINE, RECORD & PRESENT has been developed to allow you to build on and embed your knowledge, allowing you to grow in confidence and then put into practice what you have learned. AO 2: The course is made up of FOUR assessment objectives for your coursework, and external exam. Refine work by exploring ideas, selecting and experimenting with appropriate media, materials, techniques and processes. AO 3: Assessed Develop ideas through investigations, demonstrating critical understanding of sources. Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions as work progresses. AO 4: How your work is Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and demonstrates understanding of visual language.
