Introduction ● Founded in 2008 with 3 full time teachers and 8 “special” students. ● Provided by “special” education. ● Main purpose: train learning-disabled students to be motivated and improve the quality of their own lives by working. ● Development: currently, 170 students; a lunchroom; a café (Leescafé De Kleine Prins); a shop (Kaas&Delicatesse); a care institution(Leren&Werken); a villa (Villa De Vier Jaargetijden).

The profile of a Student ● “I want to be a waiter”. ● Social, spontaneous, caring but learning-disabled. ● Need a special guidance at work and social support. Young individuals like the students need a special training to work instead of staying home, they want to improve their quality of life by their own efforts with social support. Prins Heerlijk’s valuability is offering the special guidance to them.

Our own Experience ● Welcoming atmosphere. ● Relatively inexpensive for the high quality experience received. ● The food is brought very quickly and tastes absolutely amazing. ● High quality program, the students were still learning and very enthusiastic. ● Respectful, patient, professional.

Conclusion In our opinion Prins Heerlijk is a great alternative to get young people with a disability involved in the labour market. These young people deserve a chance to develop their skills. We believe Prins Heerlijk is a sustainable initiative which we expect to keep expanding in the future. This could be a society changing social startup at its best.
