Masks/Face Shields (KG-2 nd) While we cannot socially distance in every classroom, we are providing our Pre-K-2 nd grade students with a protective face shield and one cloth (washable) mask. We strongly encourage you provide additional masks for daily wear to ensure your child has access to a clean mask every day. Face shields will be left at school. Masks/Face Shields (3 rd-5 th) We are also obtaining approved dividers for desktops in our 3 rd-5 th grade classrooms. We will provide our intermediate students with one mask, however, we encourage parents to purchase additional masks for daily wear. ARRIVAL Students arriving for Extended Day (7: 00 -8: 00 AM) will have their temperatures taken by school personnel daily. Parents must wait for this check prior to leaving. Ori ent ati on All other students may arrive between 8: 00 and 8: 25 AM. There will be personnel at the entrances of the school conducting temperature checks each morning. Parents will not be able to walk students to class on the first day of school. But don’t worry, we’re working on a plan that allows you to capture those first day of school memories. Ori ent ati on Ms. Christensen Assistant Principal

ARRIVAL – 1 st Day of Kindergarten ONLY Kindergarten parents will be permitted to drop off KG students at their exterior classroom door on the first day of school. Please have your mask on and walk to the exterior door of your Kindergarten classroom. Please practice social distancing at all times and do not linger. Ori ent ati on Staff will be outside of building to take student temperatures prior to them entering the classroom. Parents are not permitted to enter the classroom. Any student found to have a temperature of 100. 4 or greater or are found to exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 will be brought to our main office and provided a separate space to ensure the health and safety of all. Dismissal Procedures – Early Check-Out If parents/guardians wish to check-out their students early, they will be asked to call the school when they are in the front parking lot/loop and meet a staff member at the front door. The student will be called to the front office with their belongings and walked to the front door. A staff member will check the ID of the parent/guardian and sign out the student for documentation. No early checks out after 2: 15 PM on regular school days. No early check outs after 12: 15 PM on Early Release days. Dismissal Procedures - General o o We will be streamlining our dismissal process this year. All students will be dismissing directly from their classrooms. Breakfast Free breakfast will be offered in the classrooms each morning KG-5 th. Ori ent ati on Ms. Christensen Assistant Principal

Cafeteria We are also spreading out in the cafeteria to implement social distancing during meal times. Students will sit with their class at an assigned table and will be spread out to ensure students eat in a clean environment. Our custodial staff will ensure sanitization occurs between each lunch time. Ms. Christensen Assistant Principal Ori ent ati on

To keep our campus as safe as possible, we will be closed to visitors/volunteers for the foreseeable future. Parents can drop off lunch in the vestibule, but will not be able to eat lunch with scholars or bring the lunch into the office. Ori ent ati on Ms. Christensen Assistant Principal

Hand washing/sanitizing will occur throughout the school day to ensure our students remain healthy. Water fountains will not be accessible. Consider sending a water bottle to school with your scholar as they will still participate in recess and PE outdoors. Ori ent ati on Mrs. Butterfield Principal

Frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned often and the entire building will be misted with a fog disinfectant several times per week. Ori ent ati on The custodial staff has also implemented additional daily cleaning practices. Mrs. Butterfield Principal

Students will definitely go outside to enjoy recess, but classes will be assigned to zones on the playground to keep cohorts of scholars together. Ori ent ati on Mr. Boysen Assistant Principal

• Students will participate in live teacher-led instruction via TEAMS and will have pre-recorded lessons to watch • Students will get reading, writing, math, science and social studies instruction • The grading policy will apply to all students. Students utilizing Duval Homeroom will complete similar assignments as their counterparts on site. All assignments will be graded. Ori ent ati on • Students will receive credit for attendance based on participation in live class meetings and completion of posted assignments – compulsory attendance laws apply. • If you need technical assistance while completing learning via Duval Homeroom, contact your student’s teacher or the Help Desk at 904 -348 -5200. • Students in Kindergarten through 3 rd grade will access blended learning activities for enrichment and remediation through i-Ready for reading and math. Writing lessons using Writing City will also be provided. • Students in 4 th and 5 th grade will access blended learning activities for enrichment and remediation through Freckle (for math and reading) and Achieve 3000 (reading only). Writing lessons using Top Score will also be provided. • All Duval Homeroom students are welcome to come by the school during their designated lunch times to pick up a lunch prepared by our Chartwell’s staff. Practice Makes Perfect! Work with your child on the following: o Wearing a face covering in 30 -minute increments. o Maintaining 6 feet distance from others in public. o Washing hands frequently using proper procedures. o Avoid touching non-personal items that belong to others. o Opening up lunch items independently.
