Introducing our 2021 Camp Card • The Camp Card Sale is to help units raise funds to pay for their Scouting program. • Units participating in this program can earn up to 50% commission for each $5 camp card sold!! Scout earns their own way to camp… Camp Card Chair: One who ensures their Scouts get to camp. Each unit should have a Camp Card Chair. The Camp Card Chair’s responsibilities are to manage all aspects of the sale and clearly communicate sale information to your leaders, parents and Scouts. The ultimate goal: Get 100% of their Scouts to camp. The Camp Card Chair should be an advocate for everything camp, they must ensure Scouts know the myriad of camp opportunities available and are encouraged to attend. The Camp Card represents opportunity to Scouts and value to the community!

Camp Card Chair Responsibilities • Be an expert of the Gulf Stream Council Camp Card Campaign • Encourage all your Scouts to set a goal and sell • Explain to parents the importance of a Scout earning their own way • Set a goal for percentage of Scouts attending camp and achieve it! • Communicate the incentives and timeline to your Scouts and parents. • Kick-off the Camp Card sale with a BANG providing all members with at least 25 cards. • Collect all money and turn in the amount due to the Council on time.

Commission The 2020 Camp Card commission is up to 50% for all units!! 50% Base Commission and settle by 4/30/2021 40% Settle between 5/1/2021 -5/14/2021 25% Settle on 5/15/2021 or later Orders and Additional Orders While supplies last, extra cards may be secured through the council office or your DE. Before receiving an additional allotment of cards, units must pay a minimum of 80% of the money associated with your previous order. Units that have completed their sale and have left over cards may return unsold cards to the Gulf Stream Council, subject to the return policy.

Return Policy Return of unsold cards will be accepted until April 30, 2020 with the following conditions: • A unit may return up to 50% of their initial order. • Any additional returns over 50% of initial order will not be accepted. • The cards must be complete, with no tabs removed. To be more fiscally responsible and have a better control of inventory we are limiting the number of cards units can return to a maximum of half of their initial order.

Camp Card Incentives and Prizes Spin-to-Win weekly drawings. For every 25 cards sold that week, a Scout will receive one entry into the weekly drawing. Blitz Weekends – For the weekends of March 5 -7 and April 2 -4, for every 25 cards sold by a Scout, they will receive one entry into a drawing for a $50 Amazon gift card!

Your Unit Kickoff • Get Scouts excited about the sale! • Get parents informed about why their child should learn to earn their own way. • Make sure the Kick-off is properly promoted through e-mails, email groups and phone calls. • Be prepared to talk about camp opportunities. • Have snacks, drinks, and music. • Make sure EVERY Scout gets a packet of cards to sell. • Keep it short and simple. Sample Kick-off Agenda • Grand Opening with music, cheers, and excitement. • Check out a packet of cards to each Scout and EXPLAIN opportunities. • Review sales goal, Camp Goal and explain key dates. • Review incentives.

Have your Scouts practice these simple steps: • Wear your uniform. • Smile and tell them who you are –first name only! • Tell them where you are from (unit within Scouting). • Tell them what you are doing (earning money toward Scout Camp, high adventure trip, etc. ). • Tell them what they can do to help (save money with the Camp Card). • Close the sale and thank them.
