English for Palestine is a modern , communicative English course which has been Specially written for schools in Palestine.
The teacher book for grade (6) present : 1 - Course rationale : English for Palestine is the sixth level of a complete English course. Level 6 complements and extends the work in level five. 2 - Themes and features : The themes in level 6 challenge the students to : _ explore a theme in more detail than at previous levels. _ learn more abstract vocabulary. _ express their ideas and opinions in free discussion. produce more language than at previous levels.
3 - Course components a- student’s book b- work book c- Cassettes d- posters e- flashcards f- tests 4 - Methodology _ classroom language : using simple phrases to manage the classroom and help organize activities , e. g. ) come in , stand up, close your books, …etc _ pair and group work : these techniques can provide different opportunities for speaking and listening.
_ Teaching new language : the teachers are going to teach the new words by : * Using pictures , drawings or photographs. * Using the object itself. * Using a gesture. * Using the context to explain the meaning of word. * Translating the word into the learners’ first language. 5 _ The format of units 1 -24 lesson 1 - Reading lesson 2 - language ( structures, functions, notions) lesson 3 - listening and speaking lesson 4 - Writing Dictionary pages : at the back of the workbook will be used to teach the students how to use dictionaries.
Independent learners: teachers should encourage the students to keep a vocabulary notebook gather families of words in their vocabulary notebook test each other’s spelling when they’ve finished their work . 6 - A typical lesson : there are some guidelines regarding the timing of parts of each lesson 7 - Openers icebreaker or warm-up activities can be directly related to theme of the lesson but don’t have to be. These simple activities are really a way of getting all students interested and involved in a lesson from the beginning

For example : at unit 7 lesson 1 ( Inside my body ) , page 30, the students are able to improve their abilities at thinking deeply. - To enhance students’ ability to use learning strategies to extend their communicative competence. For example : at unit 6 lesson 2 , page 27, the students are able to use different skills that help them in their social life. To develop students’ ability to present information in an organized manner For example : at unit 11 lesson 4 , exercise 2 , page 49, the students ask and answer questions accurately and learn to do the same in similar situations.
any objectives for h for Palestine at grade (9) - To develop students’ respect for others , especially those with social , cultural and family background different from their own , by encouraging them to reject sexual , racial stereotypes. - For example : unit 11, lesson 3&4 , page 66, shows some activities that some people (from many parts of the world) do as voluntary work that serve this goal. - To maintain students’ sense of self-confidence and reinforce pride in their Palestinian/Islamic culture heritage and family backgrounds. For example : at unit 8 lesson 1&2 , page 48, Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq’s character is introduced that absolutely would the students fell very pride to be Muslims. - To develop the students’ ability to think critically about different social , environmental , and political problems. For example : unit 13 , lesson 3&4 , page 78 , introduced social problems and many possible utions , this would give the students the chance to think about other solutions.
