Role of ERC Inside the NEE Framework The started liberalisation of Jordan’s electricity market and the related regulation are an integral part of the national energy policy including a practical and updated energy efficiency strategy which is directed at achieving three closely related main objectives: ü Improving and maintaining Security of power supply and guaranteeing efficient electricity transport and delivery to the final customers. ü Coping with public and residential service obligations, including sound and efficient supply technology, possible DSM application on distribution and consumption side, social and environmental concerns according to National Norms and Standards. ü Increasing cost competition along the electricity supply chain while promoting new EE and RE investment in the power generation and efficient supply management all sectors. 9/30/2020 www. erc. gov. jo 2

ERC Activities in DSM Awareness Campaigns: ERC… n Signed a cooperation Agreement on 2007, with a local Specialist Media Company to design & launch a wide awareness Campaign, which also include the following: o Design a Technical Guideline Book, covering the critical saving issues such as Summer Peak Demand saving procedures, . . etc. o Weekly, Visual flyers by TV, flyers by Newspapers, stickers. n Designed a Special Electronic Homepage, linked to ERC Web Site, Covering Electricity Saving Guidelines.
