Transaction Process When Redeeming a Promo. Mail gift card : 1. The Promo. Mail card is swiped through the merchant’s terminal just as they would a Valutec gift card and the transaction is forwarded to the Valutec host 2. All information communicated via POS system or terminal will act as if that card is a gift card, the only difference will be when the merchant pulls a report from the Valutec database it will indicate that the card is a promotional card instead of a gift card.
