Voly Application 1. All volunteers must be approved through the Voly system before they can volunteer at any school or district function. 1. Background checks are completed through JDP. 1. Approval normally takes 5 -7 business days. 1. Legal names must be used in order to complete the application process. a. Any error when entering information will prolong the approval process. a. Applicants should never use their personal SSN.

Protect Our Longhorns: Child Abuse and Sexual Maltreatment • Sexual Abuse - Any welcomed or unwelcomed sexual advances, request for sexual favors, and other oral, written, physical, or visual conduct of a sexual nature. • The physical contact of the private body area of a minor for the purpose of gratification will always be considered sexual abuse.

Sexual abuse may include, but is not limited to: fondling, sexual assault, or sexual intercourse. ● Volunteers/Mentors who suspect a student may have experienced prohibited harassment are obligated to report their concerns to the Campus Volunteer/Mentor Coordinator.

Protect Our Longhorns: Student Safety ● Volunteers/Mentors who suspect a student may have experienced prohibited harassment are obligated to report their concerns to the Campus Volunteer/Mentor Coordinator or an Administrator. ● All allegations of prohibited harassment of a student will be reported to the student’s parents and promptly investigated.

This includes the following conduct: • Sexually oriented conversation for the purpose of personal sexual gratification. • Calling students at home or elsewhere and engaging in inappropriate social relations. • Engaging in physical contact that would reasonably be construed as sexual in nature.

Protect Our Longhorns: Student Safety If Sexual Abuse or Grooming is Reported or Suspected: • Reassure the student that he/she has done the right thing by telling you and that what happened is absolutely not his/her fault. • Don’t criticize the student or their abuser. • Do NOT take pictures- that is only allowed by parents or by CPS. • ALWAYS REPORT ABUSE.

Protect Our Longhorns: Student Safety • Failure to report suspected abuse within 48 Hours of obtaining knowledge is a CRIME. (19 TAC Chapter 61. 1051, Subchapter EE) • Failure to report is a crime punishable by a fine, imprisonment, or both. (Family Code 261. 101; 216. 103)
