The Spanish-American War • Cuba was a colony – the Spanish government that was

The Spanish-American War • Cuba was a colony – the Spanish government that was ruling over them was across the ocean. • Like most colonized areas, the Spanish government was dictatorial when dealing with Cuba. • Cuba revolted against Spain, with the support of the United States. • Important note: the Cubans were revolting, for them this was a revolution. But this is the Spanish-American war because Spain and the US were the big players and lost/won the most out of the fight.
