September 2021 Admissions. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Children in public care (looked after children) or previously in public care. Pupils who live in the designated villages ie. Bozeat, Brafield-on-the-Green, Castle Ashby, Chadstone, Cogenhoe, Denton, Easton Maudit, Great Houghton, Grendon, Irchester, Little Houghton, Strixton, Wollaston, Yardley Hastings, Whiston. Pupils who will have an older brother or sister continuing at Wollaston School at the time of admission of the younger child. Pupils attending Wollaston School’s designated contributory Primary Schools ie. Bozeat, Cogenhoe, Denton, Grendon, Irchester, Little Houghton, Wollaston, Yardley Hastings in the year of application and continuing in attendance until the formal offer of places is made. Pupils who live in Wellingborough and its designated surrounding village and contributory parishes: Earls Barton, Ecton, Finedon Sidings (Furnace Lane), Great Doddington, Great Harrowden, Hardwick, Little Harrowden, Little Irchester, Mears Ashby, Orlingbury, Wilby. Organisation of Year Teams. Each year group is led by a Head of Year and supported by: A Student Manager A team of Tutors In addition, a member of the SLT will support the year team.

Allocation of Tutor Groups. Each year group will have 8 tutor groups, names are defined by tutor surnames e. g. 7 BEE. Consideration is given to M/F split, SEN, PP/LAC & Primary School information. Typically, Each 30 students in each tutor group represents a house.

Tutor Groups / Houses. The 4 houses are Austen, Churchill, Drake and Nightingale. The house will be determined by the tutor group, in each year group there are 2 tutor groups that represent each house. The tutor and all students in these groups will belong to the same house. Tie colour will reflect the house that the student is allocated to.

Uniform. Every student is required to wear the following compulsory items: Plain black or dark grey trousers or skirt. Plain white, short or long-sleeved buttoned shirt. House tie. School sweatshirt. Formal black shoes. PE Kit for PE lessons.

Teaching Groups / Timetable. Teaching groups are not the same as tutor groups. Each Year 7 student will be given a personalised timetable when they start in September. The timetable will include core subjects English, Maths, Science and a wide range of other subjects. Students can identify a preferred language option. Students will be placed into ability settings for some subjects.

The school day. The school day is split into 6 periods, each period is 50 minutes long. The school day includes a registration, break and lunch period. The school day formally starts with a warning bell at 8. 50 am. Students should be in registration by 8. 55 am. The school day ends at 3 pm.

Go 4 Schools Platform. We use Go 4 Schools to provide information about a students academic performance, attendance and behaviour. It is also our chosen reporting method. Homework Student is set on Go 4 Schools. and parent access.

Canteen Arrangements. We run a cashless catering system, students will be given a personalised card which can be used to purchase items in the canteen. Face ID. The card can be topped up online or using a cash loader machine outside the main hall. The canteen is open from 8 am for breakfast, at break / lunch and after-school. FSM entitlement.

Enrichment. We strongly encourage that students participate in extra-curricular activities. These activities are a great way to meet a wider group of people from a students own year group and others. Activities include team sports, Music, Drama, Science club and much more.

Current Arrangements. Students across the school are being taught in bubbles. Year 7 are in the Science block. Year 7 have remained with their own tutor group for most lessons in the first half term. Access to clubs / enrichment facilitated. Reference to Y 7 area on the school website.
