You will need: � A parent, sibling or other sentient being � A stopwatch or phone with timer function � Pass the timer to your nominated person � Press “Next” on the slideshow and talk about the poem named for 1 whole minute � You might talk about the writer, themes, the imagery, quotations you can remember, how it makes you feel… � No repetitions, no significant “erms” or delays

AO 2 – what methods are used and how do they portray the effect? AO 3 – what do you come to understand about the impact in the poem and in “the world” HOW LASTING EFFECT OF CONFLICT PRESENTED ONE AO 1 – link one paragraph on an effect explored in WP with another explored in a poem of your choice.

(Look back at Lesson 1 -2 slide 21 for extra help) � A clear topic sentence. � At least one quotation but perhaps two, if the second one BOLSTERS the message of the first. � Analyse the methods within the quotation and explain clearly how they contribute towards the effect. � Think about how the methods are likely to effect readers in light of the context of conflict’s impact.
� Your paragraphs will automatically link if you are answering the question. � Useful words to use in your second paragraph to signpost the link though might be “unlike/instead of/similar to/better than Duffy’s use of [method] is this writer’s use of… � You may wish to compare the specific backdrops of the poems (AO 3) too such as exploring why the effect on a photographer might be similar or different to a soldier/veteran/mother/child
