DISCRETIONARY GRANTS APPLICATIONS Due to Agri. SETA’s limited funds and high demand for skills, there is always a limit in the funding of Learning Programmes. üSkills Programmes - not exceed 25 learners and 24 credits. üLearnerships – not exceed 15 learners per application. üCommodity Organisations – not exceed R 500 000. 00 (Application required) üMentorship – not exceed R 400 000. 00 Application forms are available on the website during application period. NB: Click the Learning Programme (in blue) Proposals for Mentorship programmes should not exceed 10 pages. Emphasis should always be placed on Scarce & Critical skills and PIVOTAL. Due to high volume of applications / need to address Scarce & critical skills – emphasis shall be on higher NQF levels. From 2017 September, Agri. SETA will introduce a simple on-line application process in order to minimise hand / courier / post submissions.

APPROVAL LETTERS & CONTRACTS • Contracts should be returned to Agri. SETA within a month of receipt. • Funds shall be forfeited (Reallocated) if contracts are NOT returned to Agri. SETA within a month or as stipulated in the contract and approval letters. • Training can ONLY commence once the contract is signed by both parties and according to Training Plan. • Funds are regarded as contracted once the contract is signed. • At least 95% of Discretionary funds should have valid contracts. • If you realise that training for whatever reason is going to go beyond contract period, a request for an addendum should be made within three (3) months prior to the expiry of the contract. • Funds are lost to NSF if stakeholders does NOT have a valid contract or addendum. CLAIMS & INVOICES • It is always difficult to pay an invoice within 30 days because of: ü Lack of valid Tax Clearance Certificate. ü Lack of supporting documents, e. g. attendance register. ü Invoice duplicates. ü Change of banking details. ü Proof of stipend payment, etc. • • Payment of invoices is done every Friday. Regular submission of claims is essential (Levy Payers).

SETA rule) PS: Practical work should be proven by practical work attendance/log sheet

College) and Limpopo (Department of Agriculture) have Provincial Coordinators.

National Trade Test Regulations ü The New Trade Test Regulations are now fully implemented through all sectors • • • All accreditation for Occupational Qualification are directly facilitated through QCTO The National RPL Policy was published for public comment and awaiting finalization by NAMB. TWO Working Committees established at NAMB to deal with: üAccreditation of Trade Test Centres üWorkplace Approvals

NEW SKILLS PROGRAMME The Skills Programmes (FLP) implemented in the 2016/17 financial year remains credit bearing courses. The two programmes are registered with Mer. SETA with the following detail: ü Programme 1: Machine and Equipment Maintainer Mer. SETA Registration SS 0024/15 -17, 81 Credits ü Programme 2: Routine Machine Maintainer, Mer. SETA Registration SP 0956/1517, 67 Credits The Grant funding application window is aligned with the other Agri. SETA Skills Programmes.
