PEARLS Oysters Oyesters are a kind of selfish. They live in water. An oyster has a soft body. It is protected by a shell made up of two parts held together by an elastic ligament.
INSIDE OF PEARL OYSTERS SHELL The inside of pearl oyster’s shell look smooth, shiny and beautiful. It is usually white with a tinge of other colours in it. This smooth, shiny substanceis called nacre or mother-ofpearl. this substance is produced by the oyster’s mantle- a skinlike organ.
