Main problems in quality assurance system development PROFESINIO MOKYMO METODIKOS CENTRAS / METHODOLOGICAL CENTRE FOR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING • we have no single quality assurance system in various segments of VET: IVET and CVT; • VET institutions haven’t systemized model of internal quality assessment, that would allow to measure the quality of all institutions activities; • we have no quality standards: quality criteria and indicators; • an external institutional assessment is not operating, only external evaluation of training programmes is performed.

Main achievements in quality assurance system development PROFESINIO MOKYMO METODIKOS CENTRAS / METHODOLOGICAL CENTRE FOR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING • External quality assessment regulations have been prepared for IVET institutions. According to it an assessment of new training programmes is performed. • A distance learning course “Self-assessment in vocational schools” for IVET institutions representatives was prepared and is implemented. • PHARE 2000 project “Framework of qualification standards” is implemented: creation of internal assessment system of the quality of programmes and external assessment system of the quality of programmes. • Leonardo da Vinci project “Curriculum development for external quality assessment experts” is in implementation: creation of training course for external assessment experts of quality. • A national project which is aimed to consolidate different quality assurance systems in IVET and CVT is prepared and submitted to structural founds.
