Conclusion on Performance • All houses under construction are enrolled with the NHBRC. • Monthly meetings between the Department and the NHBRC assist with project preparation. • The NHBRC has seconded a registered engineer to the Department to oversee project preparation before construction commences.

Project Background • • • Municipality: Mahikeng Project Name: Marang Estate Project was enrolled with the NHBRC in 2014 Construction started in 2014. The NHBRC inspected all during construction In the mid-2014, the Department stopped the project By the time the Department stopped the project, a total of 612 out of 2400 housing units were constructed In June 2017, the Department approached the NHBRC to conduct structural assessment of houses already build The project was undertaken by NHBRC at the Department’s cost.
