What is the MME? • State high school assessment • State of Michigan legislative requirement – Revised School Code – State School Aid Act • Grade 11 • March 1 – June 1 3
Design of the MME Must contain all of the following: 1. College entrance or placement exam with a writing component 2. Work skills assessments • Reading and Mathematics • Eligibility for Employment Certification 4

Design of the MME • Three components administered over three days • Student must take complete MME to receive valid MME scores in each subject and to count as tested 8
Design of the MME • MME subject scores – derived from items from two or more components administered over multiple days – Only selected items from ACT and Work. Keys components count toward MME subject score – improve balance and alignment to HS content expectations 9

Design of MME • Provides Student: – Free national college entrance test – Free national workforce readiness evaluation – Michigan Promise eligibility • (up to $4000) 14
National Career Readiness Certification • Based on three Work. Keys assessments • Reading for Information • Applied Mathematics • Locating Information • MME Day 2 • Work. Keys score range = 3 through 7 15
National Career Readiness Certification • Three levels of distinction – Gold • Minimum score of 5 on all three tests – Silver • Minimum score of 4 on all three tests – Bronze • Minimum score of 3 on all three tests 16
National Career Readiness Certification • Individual Student Option - No fee – Register online www. myworkkeys. com – Name and student ID number as printed on Work. Keys score report – gridded on Day 2 answer document – Obtain verifiable certificate number that employers can access – No paper copy (paper copy may be purchased for $15) 17
National Career Readiness Certification • School Option – data file – Purchase Work. Keys data file – Contains certificate number, log-in, and password for each NCRC eligible student – $250 per school plus $2. 50 per each student 18
National Career Readiness Certification • School Option – paper copy – School receives paper NCRC for each eligible student in addition to the data file – Mailed to school approximately 30 days after qualifying scores are received in ACT data warehouse – $250 per school plus $5. 00 per each eligible student 19
National Career Readiness Certification • School Option – Note Schools registered to provide certificates to Grade 12 students taking the Locating Information this year (not part of MME) will not have to pay additional $250 activation fee to provide certificates to students in Grade 11 20
NCRC Eligibility • Student who takes translated version of Work. Keys tests is not eligible for NCRC – Audio translation (Spanish or Arabic) – Reader script translated into student’s native language 21
