INTRANET What is an intranet? An intranet is a private, secured internal network where employees can create content, get things done and develop their organisation. Within the internet there a large number of intranets. On an intranet there is a certain amount of traffic allowed and the number of visitors is also limited. Only specific information is found on an intranet and lots of aspects are restricted. Where are intranets used? Intranets are again used in workplaces, schools etc. to provide a more secure network to work on.

An extranet is a private network designed specifically to allow customers, partners, clients etc. to communicate with the company’s employers and employees in a close virtual space. An extranet provides some access of a organisation’s information to people outside the orgainsation but most other information is restricted. Where are extranets used? Extranets are used within companies to connect the company to its customers, clients etc.

An example of a dynamic website is BBC. co. uk which updates its web page all the time to show the latest weather, news, sport etc. Static web pages do not change their content until they are completely redesigned. An example of a static web page is the National Trust website.
