Housing Programs Public Housing • Provided through HANO-owned communities in partnership with private owners/developers, which were reconstructed as mixed-income communities over the last several years • Units are managed by the developments directly, or in most cases, through private management agreements, and are monitored for compliance with applicable public housing requirements and guidelines • Administered to families whose income does not exceed 80% of the HUD approved area median income • 18, 186 families currently on public housing waitlist Housing Choice Voucher Program • Utilizes the Section 8 subsidy for low income residents through Housing Assistance Payment’s (HAP) contracts • Includes Tenant and Project-Based Vouchers for HANO-owned and privately-owned properties throughout Orleans Parish • Administered to families whose income does not exceed 80% of the HUD approved area median income • 24, 197 families currently on HCVP waitlist 3

Agency Accomplishments • Graduation of HANO’s Inaugural Resident Entrepreneur Training Initiative participants, in partnership

Agency Accomplishments • Graduation of HANO’s Inaugural Resident Entrepreneur Training Initiative participants, in partnership with Start Smart LLC, for public housing and HCV residents striving to grow successful businesses. • Award of HUD’s CNI Scholarship Program to six (6) residents of HANO’s housing programs who achieved the minimum of a 2. 5 GPA during the 2017 -2018 academic year. Each recipient received $2, 000 toward their impending college and/or trade school education. • The award of a $2. 3 Million Jobs Plus Grant that will connect low income families with improved employment opportunities, building upon existing partnerships to assist families living in public housing in achieving employment - related and other self-sufficiency goals. • HANO has employed over 408 Section 3 residents, provided more than 289 Section 3 training slots, and awarded over $23 million in contracts to Section 3 businesses. The Agency will continue its focus on resident training and employment opportunities and ensure that there is appropriate monitoring of HANO’s ongoing contracts. 17
