Non-Profit IRS 501(c)3 purpose approved Founded in November 1995, the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to enhancing the safety of the community by reducing crime. It serves as a bridge between the police and the community, fosters a continuing collaboration between the public and private sectors, and provides a fundraising vehicle for essential crime-fighting programs.

Mission Statement The Foundation is dedicated to improving the Orleans Parish Criminal Justice System with a special focus on the New Orleans Police Department and Crime Prevention. The three main priorities of the Foundation are to: 1. Ensure all members of the criminal justice system are trained, equipped and educated to perform at the highest level of professional standards; 2. Provide NOPD and the entire criminal justice system with enhanced management and operational tools to increase efficiency, accountability, joint planning, and crime prevention; and 3. Support and promote an improved quality of life in Orleans Parish.
