How to Use This Template • This template has been designed to meet the standards outlined in the visual identity guidelines for both Homewood Student Affairs and Johns Hopkins University. • Staff are encouraged to use this template as a starting point in the design of their own presentations. • Staff may modify elements of this template to meet their needs, so long as they continue to use good design sense and remain mindful of established guidelines for visual identity.

Color Palette This template features a custom Homewood Student Affairs palette with colors selected from the full university palette: #003 B 5 D #002 B 70 #0 D 5 EB 6 #68 ACE 5 #00 AB 8 E #8 E 3 A 80 #CF 4520

Slide Masters • There are three slide masters built into this template: a bar version, solid version, and gradient version. • When creating a new slide, click the arrow to the right of the “New Slide” button in the “Home” ribbon menu to switch between slide masters.

Adjusting the Background Color To change the background color of the solid slide master, switch to the “View” ribbon menu; select the “Slide Master” option; select the first slide of the solid slide master; right-click on the background; select “format background”; click the paint bucket icon; select the desired color from one of theme colors; and click the “Close Master” button to finish. Inserting Your Unit Logo To insert your unit logo in place of the HSA logo, switch to the “View” ribbon menu; select the “Slide Master” option; select the first slide of the version you wish to edit; replace the HSA logo with your own; and click the “Close Master” button.

Slide Layouts Each slide master features several predefined slide layouts for presenting type, images, charts, etc. You can select from these layouts when creating a new slide, or modify the layout of an existing slide by clicking the “Layout” button in the “Home” ribbon menu.
