We are beginning by learning to apply the tic-tac-toe strategy to decompose. When we are ready, we will use the grid to add two three-digit numbers. • Task: Complete the handout on your own to practice using the tic-tac-toe strategy with no regrouping.

Notice that this version of the story is told from the point of view of the wicked stepmother. • Task: Listen to the story, “Justin and Malek”, and let’s answer the questions about each character’s point of view together.
